On the January 15 episode of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block”, IVE members Jang Wonyoung and An Yujin appeared to chat with Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho.
During the show, Jang Wonyoung spoke about the “Lucky Vicki” phenomenon, saying, “Looking back, I’ve lived this way since I was young. You could say I’m optimistic—I’ve never let bad situations consume me. Instead of focusing on negative moments, I always thought about what came next. It was a natural way of thinking for me.”

She added, “During an overseas tour, I was waiting at a famous bakery, but they sold out just before my turn. However, I was told fresh bread would be ready soon, so I called myself ‘Lucky Vicky.’ That moment spread like wildfire, and by the next day, everyone was using it like a meme.”
The female idol also emphasized the power of thoughts and words, saying, “I believe thoughts and words carry energy. When negative or anxious thoughts arise, I try to redirect them positively. If I were on the wrong path, I might have stopped this mindset. But since I’m on the right path and happy with where I am now, I’m grateful for my ‘Wonyoung-like thinking.’”

Jang Wonyoung also shared her debut story, stating, “I vaguely dreamed of becoming a news anchor, but everything changed when I was scouted at my sister’s graduation. It felt like fate because the person who cast me left the company just three days later. Although entertainment is a small world where paths often cross, I’ve never seen that person again. It feels like destiny.”
Jang Wonyoung then addressed how she copes with malicious comments, describing external pressure as her biggest source of stress.

“Happiness is the most important thing to me, but in this line of work, there are things I’m forced to do or hear. As Jang Wonyoung, I don’t want to hear those things, and that external pressure is the hardest to deal with. But I’ve found a solution: I remind myself that I’m the main character of my life. Living proactively helps me resolve it”, she said.
According to Wonyoung, people judge her based on just a few seconds of footage without truly knowing her, so it doesn’t hurt her deeply. She also mentioned that she believes no pain comes without reward.

Reflecting on entering her twenties, Jang Wonyoung said, “Turning twenty hasn’t dramatically changed my life. Growing older feels like time flowing by. But what I like about being in my twenties is that my words carry more weight. For 2025, I hope to remain composed—unshaken by ups or downs. What matters most is health and peace.”
