On November 26, Japanese media outlet Post Seven reported, “Jung Hae-in’s TBS drama appearance fell through, putting the drama in danger of being stranded.”
According to the outlet, TBS offered Jung Hae-in a role in the drama, and his side expressed a “positive consideration” of the offer. Based on this response, TBS began preparations for filming, targeting a February (2025) start. However, Jung Hae-in’s sudden decision to decline reportedly disrupted the schedule, leaving co-star Sakaguchi Kentaro dismayed.

Upon closer examination, however, the claims are unfounded. Jung Hae-in had not confirmed his appearance in the drama, as his “positive consideration” was a courteous and non-committal response. Despite this, the production team moved forward with casting and preparations as though his participation was guaranteed.
Jung Hae-in’s agency FNC Entertainment has yet to issue an official statement. Nonetheless, the implication that the drama was derailed solely because of Jung Hae-in’s decision seems to be an unfair attempt to assign blame and could stir controversy.

The drama in question reportedly revolves around the cross-border friendship between a Korean lawyer and a Japanese veterinarian.
While the Japanese media is strongly criticizing Jung Hae-in for allegedly irresponsible behavior, public opinion in Korea seems to view the situation differently. Based on prior reports, there was never any confirmation that Jung Hae-in would participate in the drama. His agency only provided a response of “positive consideration”, but the production team seemingly “misrepresented” this as a commitment and proceeded unilaterally with the casting process. Many believe that the production team may be unfairly venting their frustration on the 1988-born actor.
