Coachella 2025 the world’s biggest music festival has officially wrapped up, ending a season of vibrant music, art, and entertainment. Among global headliners like Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Tyla, Megan Thee Stallion, and Charli XCX, the K-pop world also shined brightly, with Jennie and Lisa of BLACKPINK and ENHYPEN representing Korea on the grand international stage.

Jennie’s and Lisa’s appearances were highly anticipated, but reactions to their performances were divided. While Lisa received widespread praise for her powerhouse stage presence, Jennie was criticized for not fully showcasing her potential after years in the industry.

Recently, a TikTok video has gone viral, allegedly showing a mass of audience members leaving during Jennie’s set at the Outdoor Theater — reportedly to watch Megan Thee Stallion, one of the most talked-about stars of this year’s Coachella.

“Jennie’s performance was boring and lazy, so people left to see a real performer,” the original poster claimed, sparking a wave of controversy.

However, many netizens who claimed to have attended Coachella were quick to refute the narrative. They explained that Jennie was nearing the end of her set, performing her closing song “Starlight,” when Megan Thee Stallion took the stage just seven minutes earlier, naturally drawing crowds.

Moreover, as many pointed out, Coachella is fundamentally a free-roaming festival — not a fixed-seat concert. Audience members are free to wander between stages and performances. Short breaks between songs, like Jennie‘s pause before “Starlight,” also often lead to natural audience movement.

Adding fuel to the fire, some sharp-eyed users accused the TikTok account of being a known anti-fan of Jennie and Lisa, often praising Lisa only to drag Jennie. The controversial video itself was allegedly filmed by a Lisa “akgae” (a fan who only supports Lisa within BLACKPINK).

As discussions heat up, it’s clear that Jennie’s Coachella moment has left the internet heavily divided — with passionate defenses and sharp criticisms flying in both directions.
