K-netizens Revisit BLACKPINK’s Jennie School Bullying Allegations to Mixed Responses

Recently, a topic titled “Jennie’s school bullying is well buried” was published on the Korean forum Nate Pann, drawing significant attention.
The topic in question recalled a 2012 post on Korean forum Instiz, alleging that BLACKPINK’s Jennie, then a YG Entertainment trainee, had been involved in school bullying during her time in New Zealand. The anonymous author claimed to have attended the same class with Jennie around 2010, adding that they were a victim of bullying and ostracization from Jennie and her foreign friends, to the point they contemplated suicide.

The post went on to portray Jennie her as someone who looked down on fellow Koreans, claiming that Jennie had the personality where everything had to go her way, and that the female idol would throw juice, trash, and balls at them while laughing.
The author also included several yearbook pictures, along with her signature, as “evidence” for their accusations. Additionally, despite the controversy, YG Entertainment did not release an official statement addressing the allegations.

While the issue has since been forgotten, the newly-published topic as caused it to resurface, leading to heavy debates. Fortunately, whereas there are some criticisms, most comments under the new topic defend Jennie, with netizens pointing out that the bullying allegations were already disproven.
At the time, fans noticed various discrepancies and mismatched information in the claims, and the accuser constantly changed their words before eventually deleting their post altogether. Now, netizens only mock the topic’s author, leaving comments such as, “The claims aren’t even true, so leave Jennie alone” and “Are you so jealous about Jennie’s songs topping the chart that you resorted to such dirty tactics?”.
