Jeon Hye-bin Talks About Playing Woman Pregnant With Twins In Comeback Drama After Childbirth

Jeon Hye-bin stars in MBC’s two-part short drama “The Pork Cutlets”, which is scheduled to air the first episode on July 5th. The script for this drama was selected as Best Short Story at the 2023 MBC Drama Screenplay Contest.
In the drama, Jeon Hye-bin plays a married couple with Jung Sang-hoon, who takes on the role of Lee Jang. Jeon Hye-bin’s character Im Shin-ae suddenly gets pregnant although she’s already raising three mischievous sons. Determined to not have children anymore, she suggests her husband undergo a vasectomy. Expectations are high for Jeon Hye-bin’s transformation in this comedy drama.

In a recent interview, Jeon Hye-bin revealed the reason she decided to star in “The Pork Cutlets” and revealed several behind-the-scene stories about her character.
First of all, she shared, “It’s been a long time since I received a script that made me smile and warmed my heart while reading it. I also like comedy acting so I couldn’t miss this opportunity”.
Expressing her impression about returning to the filming set after a long time since her childbirth in 2022, Jeon Hye-bin said, “While experiencing the biggest events in my life such as giving birth and raising children, the filming felt so new to me. I also enjoyed the time preparing for this drama”.
Adding that living in a situation similar to the character helped her immerse in the story even more, the actress said, “Shin-ae is a lovely person. As a mother of three sons and twins in her belly, there is nothing to be afraid of. Since I’m also raising a son, there’s no need to force myself to immerse in the character. I think I was the most comfortable when playing Shin-ae”.
Jeon Hye-bin will challenge speaking in the Chungcheong-do dialect through this drama. She confessed, “It was my first time acting in dialect, I tried to make the character part of my life so that it didn’t look awkward”. Mentioning the atmosphere on the set that was full of chemistry, the actress said, “I couldn’t stop smiling, especially when I acted with Jung Sang-hoon. He was very witty and energetic. Our teamwork was so great that all the actors felt a little disappointed after filming ended”.
“The Pork Cutlets” will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on July 5th.
