On February 26, Jeon Hyo-sung appeared on Kim Ji-seok’s YouTube channel, titled “The Intersection of You and Me,” where they discussed her strict dieting habits and the pressures of maintaining her appearance.
Kim Ji-seok, who shares the same agency as Jeon Hyo-sung, recalled their last company dinner, noting, “Did you even eat a single piece of meat? You just kept drinking Aesabi (a dietary drink) from your tumbler.” Jeon admitted, “It was a desperate struggle to avoid gaining weight. I have to keep managing myself.”

Explaining her motivation, she said, “I want to present the best version of myself to the fans and viewers who have waited for me. When I fail to do so, I feel guilty.” She also detailed her low-carb diet, emphasizing the importance of monitoring net carbohydrates. “If a food contains 30g of carbs, 10g of fiber, and 5g of sugar alcohols, the net carbs would be 15g. Consuming less than 100g per day is considered a low-carb diet.”
In December, Jeon revealed on “Bodymentary: Confessions About Fat (tentative title)” that she developed an obsession with weight control as an idol. “Gaining weight felt like failing my professional duties,” she admitted, describing a cycle of binge eating, yo-yo dieting, and self-loathing.
She also shared that after her solo album failed to chart in the Top 100, she even considered breast augmentation to regain public attention, highlighting the extreme pressures she faced.
