Ji Ye-eun’s Drastically Changed Face After One Year on ‘Running Man’: “Burnout Made Me Drink, Life Feels Boring”
Choi Daniel and Kim Ah-young appeared as guests on the March 2 episode of SBS’s “Running Man“.
During the opening, Haha teased Ji Ye-eun by saying, “Ye-eun, you’ve gotten prettier. Your face has completely rounded out.” Haha, who has the nickname “Bangkki-nam (a man who eats meals on broadcasts)”, pointed out Ji Ye-eun’s impressive appetite, joking, “She should be called ‘Bangkki-nyeo’ (a female version of ‘Bangkki-nam’). If we go by food intake, she eats more than me.”
Yoo Jae-suk chimed in “Go ask your family. From what I see, you come from a lineage of merchants. You have a naturally strong build—there must be a merchant ancestor in your family“, questioning Ji Ye-eun’s DNA. Haha added, “(Kim) Jong-kook has a build that comes from effort, but Ye-eun was born with it. She could take down a cow.”
Meanwhile, guest Kim Ah-young, Ji Ye-eun’s close friend, appeared noticeably slimmer and was praised by Choi Daniel, who said, “From the side, you look like IU.” Yoo Jae-suk then joked, “Ah-young isn’t the only one who resembles a celebrity. Ye-eun looks like Aebong.”
Ji Ye-eun retorted, “I’m SNL’s Jang Wonyoung!” Haha, pretending to mishear, asked, “Jang-hoon? Seo Jang-hoon?” He continued teasing, “Both of you eat a lot. Show us how you eat gloves.” When Kim Ah-young reminisced about how Ji Ye-eun used to be much thinner, Ji Ye-eun shot back, “You’re only saying that because you lost weight. Think about your frog days.” She accidentally mixed up her words, which made everyone burst into laughter.
Later, Yoo Jae-suk asked Kim Ah-young, “Ye-eun has been filming ‘Running Man’ for quite some time now. Has she ever badmouthed us?” After some hesitation, Kim Ah-young replied “Not at all, but she does seem tired from the repetitive routine“, expressing concern about her friend’s burnout.
Ji Ye-eun, who was previously seen looking for a hangover remedy at a convenience store, admitted, “Life feels boring, so I drink.” While Ji Seok-jin joked “It’s because you don’t have a boyfriend“, Yoo Jae-suk bluntly advised based on experience, “You have to cut off all your work. That’ll make you snap out of it.“
