BLACKPINK’s Jisoo’s Fans Angered at Reporters’ Rude Question, “Other BLACKPINK Solo Releases Hit No.1..”
Recently, a snippet from the press conference for the “zom-com” K-drama “Newtopia”, which stars BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, is resurfacing.
In particular, a video showing Jisoo answering to a reporter’s not-so-appropriate question is gaining rapid attention, with over 510,000 views after 2 days of upload.
In this video, the reporter asked, “Other BLACKPINK members have all released solo projects, while you have are pursing individual activities through acting. They all achieved No.1 on music charts with their solo releases, so what goals do you hope to achieve through your acting career? What achievements do you hope to accomplish through ‘Newtopia’?”
To this, Jisoo replied, “I was busy on the film set all the time, so when the members achieved success, people around me would congratulate me as well. I received congratulations for other members’ accomplishments as if they were my own, which made me feel like we were a family. Thanks to that, I was able to work even harder while filming.”
Netizens who saw the video was greatly angered that the reporter for trying to compare Jisoo with the other members. In fact, it was not like Jisoo neglect her position as a singer, as she has just dropped a mini-album and the title song, “Earthquake“.
So far, there have been comments such as, “Malicious comments kill people, but some scoundrels pave the way for them”, “Did the reporter really have to ask such a rude question? Jisoo, it’s amazing how well you manage your facial expressions”, and “That’s a really rude question.”
On the other hand, while “Newtopia” is gaining rapid success, Jisoo has come under a controversy for her acting skills in the drama.
