Jisoo Mentions BLACKPINK’s Awards Ceremony Tardiness Incident, Hints at Full-Group Comeback
On February 4, a new episode of the web variety show “Salon Drip 2” featured Jisoo as a guest, ahead of her comeback with the new mini-album “AMORTAGE”.
During the episode, Jisoo met with MC Jang Do-yeon and started by saying, “I feel a sense of familiarity with you. You’ve helped us before.” She was referring to a past incident at an awards ceremony in 2018 when Jang Do-yeon extended her acceptance speech to cover for BLACKPINK, who had arrived late.
Recalling the situation, Jisoo explained, “We were getting ready, then things got really delayed. The roads were suddenly congested, too. So, I asked the staff ‘Is it okay?’ and they said it was, so I thought we were fine.“
She expressed her belated gratitude to Jang Do-yeon, “I only saw that video later. I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you.“
Jisoo is set to make her comeback on February 14. When Jang Do-yeon asked “Have the BLACKPINK members heard your new song?“, Jisoo replied, “Lisa has been so busy that she hasn’t heard it yet. Jennie and Rosé said they liked it.“
Jang Do-yeon also asked, “Do BLACKPINK members coordinate their styling?” Jisoo responded, “Rosé and Lisa enjoy dressing up and putting on makeup. Jennie and I are more natural—we just apply sunscreen and go out. That’s why I only trust Jennie.”
She then shared a behind-the-scenes anecdote, “For our 8th-anniversary live broadcast, I had a meeting and was really busy that day, so I had to go in my training clothes. On my way, I asked, ‘I look like a mess—anyone else a mess too?’ Jennie replied, ‘I look like a mess, but there are two princesses here.’ When I arrived, sure enough, Jennie and I were in our natural states, while Rosé and Lisa were all dressed up.”
Jisoo also raised fans’ expectations for a full-group comeback. She revealed, “We’re planning to release an album as BLACKPINK this year and go on tour. I think there’s a good chance that all four of us will be together this year.“
