Jiyeon Shares Update After Divorce from Hwang Jae-gyun “A Completely Different Vibe”
On Oct 28th, Jiyeon posted several photos without any captions. In the pictures, she is seen wearing silver-rimmed glasses, exuding an innocent charm.
It seems that Jiyeon has moved into a new home after her divorce, revealing a new space with a different atmosphere from before.
Jiyeon officially announced her divorce from professional baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun (37, KT Wiz) on Oct 5th. Her legal representative from Taesung Law Firm stated, “The couple could not overcome their differences and, after a period of separation, they have agreed to divorce. The divorce mediation process is currently underway at the Seoul Family Court.”
Through her legal representative, Jiyeon said, “I’m sorry to greet you with bad news. We have mutually agreed to proceed with the divorce mediation process.” Hwang Jae-gyun added, “Due to personality differences, after much deliberation, we decided to separate and ultimately divorce. We’ve already submitted the divorce mediation request to the Seoul Family Court, and we plan to conclude the process amicably.“
Jiyeon and Hwang Jae-gyun went public with their relationship in February 2022 after six months of dating and got married in December of the same year. Recently, they have been surrounded by rumors of separation and divorce. In June, rumors of their divorce were even mentioned during a baseball broadcast on KNN, which Jiyeon’s side denied at the time.
