Jo Hye-ryun Reveals Heartwarming Moment with Song Joong-ki: “He’s So Precious”

On the March 25 episode of SBS’s “Dolsing Fourmen,” comedienne Jo Hye-ryun captured attention with a delightful and unexpected story involving actor Song Joong-ki. The segment featured a mix of humor and sincerity as Jo opened up about the moment they crossed paths and how it left a lasting impression.
During the episode, host Tak Jae-hoon teased Jo by asking, “Is it true you turn even the briefest brush with a top star into a broadcast story? You said you met Song Joong-ki at a luxury hotel?” Without hesitation, Jo confirmed with a smile, “Yes, I did meet him. I was at a hotel and saw Song Joong-ki there. I had previously met him on ‘Running Man.’ He said it was his father’s 70th birthday. He was eating at the buffet on the first floor, so I sent over an expensive bottle of champagne.”

Amused by the gesture, Tak quipped, “Why would you do that when you barely even know him?” To which Jo replied, “Because Song Joong-ki is precious.” She then added, “Later, he even came all the way to Ilsan and bought me a meal.”
Her story prompted others on the panel to share their own experiences with the beloved actor. Actor Kim Soo-ro spoke up, saying, “The only junior who ever bought me a meal was Song Joong-ki. I usually treat the juniors, but one time we bumped into each other at a restaurant. I was about to pay, but he left early. I thought I hadn’t paid, but it turned out Song Joong-ki had already paid for our meal.”
Comedian Kim Jun-ho added humor to the moment, saying, “Someone please tell me which restaurant Song Joong-ki frequents, I need to go and get a free meal too!” drawing laughter from the studio.
Later in the episode, Jo Hye-ryun also addressed rumors about her so-called “self-manufactured love scandals.” She candidly shared a personal reflection involving fellow entertainer Kim Gu-ra. “Both Kim Gu-ra and I were lonely. During the time we were filming the family variety show, everything was fine. But after our divorces, we drifted apart. One day I messaged him asking, ‘How are you doing? Is it hard?’ and started imagining what it would be like if we got married. But from the start, Kim Gura had no interest in me,” she confessed, prompting a wave of laughter from the panel.
Actor Lim Won-hee jokingly followed up, asking, “Didn’t you try to create a ‘love business’ with Ji Sang-ryeol too?” Jo quickly clarified, “It wasn’t like that.”
She went on to explain, “Shortly after I became a divorcée, I worked on a program with Ji Sang-ryeol. I was feeling very lonely at the time. During a talk, he suddenly said, ‘Should I help raise Woo-joo (Jo’s son)?’ That comment struck me right in the heart.”

While the segment was filled with laughs, the part about Song Joong-ki especially stood out, not just for the unexpected luxury hotel encounter but for the consistent praise from fellow celebrities. From treating seniors to dinner without hesitation to quietly paying for meals behind the scenes, Song Joong-ki’s reputation as a thoughtful and humble star continues to grow. In an industry where image often overshadows authenticity, stories like these serve as a reminder of why he remains so beloved both on and off screen.
