Jo Jung-suk’s Scene-Stealing Cameo in “Weak Hero Class 2” Sends Fans Into a Frenzy

Jo Jung-suk has made a powerful impact with his special appearance in Netflix’s newly released series, Weak Hero Class 2.
Released on April 25, Weak Hero Class 2 follows Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), a model student who, after failing to protect his friends from violence, transfers to Eunjang High School. There, he confronts even greater violence to protect those he cares about, setting off a harrowing survival story and a radiant coming-of-age journey.
In this gripping narrative, Jo Jung-suk portrays Mr. Choi, the sinister manager of the delinquent alliance’s top figure, Na Baek-jin (played by Bae Na-ra). Despite being a special appearance, Jo’s performance left an unforgettable mark.
Mr. Choi’s chilling dominance is showcased in a scene where he effortlessly overpowers Na Baek-jin, warning him coldly, “If I have to come again, you’re dead.” Jo’s portrayal masterfully combines subtle facial muscle control, a chilling gaze, and a cold tone of voice, elevating the tension of the scene and deepening the audience’s immersion.

By fully embodying the role of the “ultimate villain” controlling the chaos behind the scenes, Jo Jung-suk once again proved his exceptional range. His nuanced acting brought layers of complexity to Mr. Choi, transforming a brief appearance into a standout moment in the series.
Jo Jung-suk first rose to public recognition with the film Architecture 101, and has since built a reputation for his charming, comedic roles in dramas like Jealousy Incarnate, Oh My Ghost, and Hospital Playlist.
Coincidentally, while Resident Playbook (a spin-off of Hospital Playlist) is currently airing, Jo’s appearance in Weak Hero Class 2 rekindled audiences’ fondness for his comedic skills.
