On June 9, Netflix hosted the official press conference for the highly anticipated ‘Squid Game‘ Season 3 at the Dragon City Hotel in Yongsan, Seoul. The event featured series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk and cast members including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Jo Yuri, Chae Gook-hee, Lee Da-wit, and No Jae-won.

As the Squid Game saga continues, Season 3 picks up from the devastating fallout of Season 2. The story centers on Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) as he returns to the deadly games with a personal mission, the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), and a group of survivors facing their final fates in a new iteration of the brutal contest.
Among the cast, Jo Yuri, who plays the youngest contestant Joon-hee, drew attention for her unique character portrayal.
During the press event, Jo Yuri revealed, “Joon-hee is pregnant during the games, which means she experiences significant physical and emotional hardship. I plan to show a strong and resilient spirit through this character, so please look forward to it.”

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk also addressed the broader purpose of the ‘Squid Game’ series. When asked about the message he hoped to deliver, he responded, “I never intended to give a specific message, but rather to raise questions. In a capitalist society marked by extreme competition, I wanted to ask whether humanity can create a better, more sustainable world for future generations.”
‘Squid Game’ continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Season 2 became the most-watched OTT series in the U.S. across the 2024–2025 season. With Season 3 set to premiere on June 27, expectations are soaring for what might be the franchise’s most intense chapter yet.
