JYP’s Regret About KG’s Lawsuit which Causes Significant Harm to VCHA’s Members

On December 9, JYP USA stated, “We would like to address the lawsuit filed by Kiera Grace Madder (hereafter referred to as KG) and the statements she made on social media.”
The company explained, “In May, KG left the group’s residence and requested discussions through her legal representative. In response, we temporarily suspended VCHA’s activities and sought various solutions through negotiations with KG’s representatives. However, we recently did not receive a response from KG’s side, and our legal representative was also waiting for a reply.”

They added, “In this situation, KG has unilaterally disclosed false and exaggerated claims to the public and opted for a lawsuit, which is extremely regrettable. This has caused significant harm to the other members of VCHA, who have been diligently preparing for the album release in the first half of 2025 and other planned activities, as well as to our company. We will take all necessary measures to ensure that neither VCHA’s members nor JYP suffer further damage due to this matter.”
On December 8, KG announced, “Yesterday (December 7), I filed a lawsuit to terminate my contract with JYP Entertainment and leave the team. I cannot support an environment where a member attempted extreme measures and suffered from an eating disorder that led to self-harm. I made up my mind back in May. I am worried about the remaining members. They are subjected to grueling work schedules, extreme restrictions on their private lives, and have accumulated massive debts to the company while receiving almost no compensation.”
About VCHA

VCHA is a six-member girl group comprising KG, Lexi, Camilla, Kendall, Savanna, and Kaylee. The group was formed through A2K, a survival audition jointly produced by JYP and Republic Records. VCHA debuted in January with high expectations, combining K-pop’s rigorous training system and the talents of versatile American global members. They received praise for their skills, visuals, music, and content quality, signaling JYP’s new global strategy success.
However, the group faced challenges when Kaylee suspended activities in March due to health issues, and now KG has announced her departure, putting VCHA in a difficult position.
Official Statement from JYP USA
Dear All,
This is JYP USA.
We would like to address the recent lawsuit filed by Kiera Grace Madder (hereafter referred to as “KG”) and her public statements on social media.
In May of this year, KG left group residence and initiated discussions through her legal representatives. In response, we temporarily suspended VCHA’s planned activities and engaged in extensive discussions with KG’s representatives to explore potential resolutions. However, recently we have not received any response from KG’s representatives, leaving our legal representatives awaiting further communication.
We deeply regret KG’s decision to file a lawsuit and make unilateral public statements containing false and exaggerated claims. This action has caused significant harm to the other members of VCHA and JYP USA who have been working diligently on their upcoming album and projects for early 2025.
JYP USA will take all necessary measures to ensure that neither the other members of VCHA nor JYP USA suffer further harm as a result of this matter.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
JYP USA
