Fans of NCT expressed frustration regarding the way SM has been handling the NCT system with multiple units
A netizen in Nate Pann aroused keen attention by making a post titled, “Why did SM do this to NCT…?”.
They summarized the problems that happened to the NCT system since their debuts, such as:
1. Overlapping members
2. Not adding new trainees for NCT DREAM’s graduation system and ending up letting Mark return to the group
3. Releasing “Sticker” after “Kick It”… Everyone knows the purpose was to give copyright fees to the main producer
4. Dream did well with “Hot Sauce” after the group was fixed. Since then, there’s been no difference between DREAM and 127
5. Sungchan and Shotaro had no activities for 3 years. If the two did not RIIZE, they could sue SM and it wouldn’t be their fault
6. Way V’s management is a total mess
7. The NCT U system was created but it is just a way for them to push the main members
The netizen added, “Some people keep saying ‘Bring back Lee Soo-man’ every time something happens at SM, but isn’t the way Lee Soo-man managed NCT, aespa and Got The Beat during his past years under the company questionable?”

– The NCT system has failed ever since they abolished the graduation system. Having overlapping members, the management of both groups becomes very hard. I can’t find any benefits of having overlapping members. I don’t know who benefits from this system. The members in both groups make a lot of money. Other members have plans but they had no chance to rise higher
– They released the best hit “Kick it” but made a comeback with “Sticker” after taking a hiatus for one year and 6 months. Since then, the group really lost their heat and popularity… That’s why idols often release 2-3 songs at once…
– True… Without “Sticker”, 127 would have become more popular… I can’t understand their choice back then
– To be honest, number 1 is the biggest problem. Since they had solid fandoms, releasing songs like ‘Hot Sauce’ or ‘Sticker’ did not affect much. SungSho already debuted with RIIZE so the problem is solved. I feel regret for WayV… Anyways, No.1 is the proble
