Former IZ*ONE member turned rising actress Kang Hye-won has once again proven her acting range with a brief but powerful appearance in MBC’s fantasy drama “Oh My Ghost Clients”. Particularly, in the June 7 episode, Kang surprised viewers by taking on the role of Lee Yeo-jin, a composed and incisive social affairs journalist. Though her screen time was limited, Kang’s portrayal left a lasting impression, highlighting both her charisma and refined delivery.
The character Lee Yeo-jin is a former colleague of Go Kyun-woo (played by Cha Hak-yeon) and a journalist who precisely reports on major incidents. Her standout moment came during a news report on a nurse’s wrongful death, where her clear diction and professional demeanor brought gravity to the scene. The emotional tension she created between the main characters further elevated her short appearance.

Viewers praised Kang’s natural immersion in the role, noting that her brief performance blended seamlessly into the narrative while adding depth and tension.
Meanwhile, Kang Hye-won first rose to fame by appearing on Mnet’s “Produce 48” in 2018, through which she debuted as a member of the immensely popular project group IZ*ONE. Since the group’s disbandment, she has been steadily building a career in acting with appearances in dramas such as “The Player 2: Master of Swindlers,” “Boyhood,” and “Friendly Rivalry”.

Among these, her nuanced performance as Joo Ye-ri in “Friendly Rivalry” earlier this year earned her recognition for capturing both emotional complexity and character depth.

It seems that the idol-actress is continuing to evolve with each role, showing dedication and versatility, and her cameo in “Oh My Ghost Clients” only adds to the growing anticipation for her next projects.

Meanwhile, “Oh My Ghost Clients”, which is a supernatural legal comedy about a labor attorney who sees ghosts, continues airing on MBC and is available for streaming on Netflix, Coupang Play, and Wavve. According to Nielsen Korea, the series has seen a slight dip in viewership, with Episode 1 starting at 4.1% and the latest episode recording 2.8% nationwide.
