Kang Hye-won Reveals Extreme Diet Struggles: ‘Hyeri Said I Felt Like Chicken Bones’ at 37kg
On February 7, a video titled “I Guess I Have to Watch This Drama Because of the Kiss Scene – Behind the Scenes of ‘Friendly Rivalry'” was uploaded on Hyeri’s YouTube channel, featuring Kang Hye-won as a guest.

Hyeri and Kang Hye-won will both appear in the STUDIO X+U drama “Friendly Rivalry,” set to premiere on January 10. Hyeri asked Kang Hye-won about her role, “How was Yeri? Anything during filming?” Kang Hye-won replied, “Yeri has this obsession, with dieting. But just around that time, I was at my lowest weight. While filming ‘Friendly Rivalry’ I think I filmed in my skinniest state. .”
Hyeri recalled, “She was so skinny! At that time, Yeri was so thin that one day I grabbed Yeri’s arm, and it felt like a chicken bone. Not a human bone, it really felt like a chicken bone. So I’d always grab it saying, ‘Oh, hey'” Kang Hye-won then revealed, “After that, every time she saw me, ‘Oh, Hyewon, you’re here? Click'” Hyeri added, “It seriously felt like I could just snap it like a wooden chopstick,” to which Kang Hye-won admitted, “But honestly, I was really skinny back then.”

However, Hyeri found it surprising that Kang Hye-won ate so well. “But the amazing thing is, she eats so well. After lunch break, when it’s time to film, she comes seriously and says, ‘Hyeri… I just had some gopchang, you know? You absolutely have to try the gopchang stew too,'” Hyeri shared.
Amazed at how much Kang Hye-won could eat, Hyeri asked, “But how do you eat so well? 37kg? Back then?” Kang Hye-won responded, “Back then, yeah.” Since Kang Hye-won’s profile states that she is 163cm tall, Hyeri reacted in shock, saying, “No wonder I said ‘click!’”
