It was later confirmed that the incident took place at an MLB Malaysia retail location. As the clip spread rapidly and drew widespread attention, MLB Malaysia released an official statement via its social media accounts.
“We are aware of the recent incident involving the unauthorized removal of Karina’s standee from one of our stores,” the brand stated. “We sincerely appreciate the public’s interest in this matter. However, we would like to remind everyone that all displays inside our stores are the property of MLB and are placed there for everyone to enjoy. We are currently reviewing the incident internally.”
