
The reporter, who first reported Jung Joon-young’s illegal filming allegation in September 2016, appeared in a documentary by BBC News on May 19th and said, “When Jung Joon-young’s ex-lover A received a call from KBS’s lawyer. They told her that she could face severe punishment for making false accusations if she didn’t have enough insufficient”.
The reporter added, “At that time, the victim was so scared after hearing that so she withdrew the complaint against Jung Joon-young.”

Earlier, A sued Jung Joon-young in February 2016 after discovering that the male singer secretly took videos of her body parts with his phone. Jung Joon-young admitted to filming videos but claimed that he mistakenly thought he had A’s consent. He did not voluntarily submit his phone to the police but left it to a private forensic company.
In September 2016, the truth was revealed through the media. A withdrew her complaint against Jung Joon-young but later submitted a petition asking for leniency for him. According to the reporter who covered the case, A submitted the petition after KBS’s lawyer contacted her.

Jung Joon-young held a press conference in September 2016 and insisted on his unfairness. Public opinion was reversed after the press conference and the victim received harsh criticism.
Later, Jung Joon-young was arrested and charged in March 2019. After being revealed as one of the masterminds in the Burning Sun Scandal, he received a five-year imprisonment sentence for committing various sex crimes. Jung Joon-young was recently from prison on March 19th this year.
