Kim Sae-ron’s 49th Day Memorial Brings Rising Grief: Kim Bo-ra and Lee Suhyun Express Longing

On April 5, Kim Bo-ra shared a touching message, “When you were 11 and I was 16, we first met at an audition. You kept chattering next to me as if I was so amazing. Then you became a middle schooler, then a high schooler. Then suddenly, you were driving. You loved receiving letters so much that I had fun writing you notes even when it wasn’t your birthday—sometimes by text, sometimes handwritten. Looking back at my photo album, I see what kind of emotions I had back then. My youngest who hated the cold… And of course, it’s raining again. Don’t fall down, silly. Just accept this letter.”

April 5 marks the 49th day since Kim Sae-ron’s passing. Kim Bo-ra, who was so close to Kim Sae-ron that they even shared home passcodes, wrote this letter as a quiet farewell to her dear friend.
She also shared a video clip of them together, both with pink hair. Kim Bo-ra expressed deep longing and affection, “Sae-ron, who wouldn’t even eat properly because of work… now eat everything and speak freely.”
Previously, on March 5, Lee Suhyun also expressed her longing for Kim Sae-ron. Hareem mentioned, “Suhyun appeared in my dream. Maybe it’s because I’ve been worrying for a long time due to the recent unfortunate events. I’m concerned about how she’s doing, but I don’t even know how to ask about her well-being.” He added, “I hope that just the feeling of missing each other could be enough to protect us.”

To this, Suhyun responded, “My most precious memories and people… Even without words, I can feel everything, but thank you for saying it. The feeling of missing you is already protecting me enough.”
After Kim Sae-ron’s passing, Suhyun had planned to guest at SHINee Onew’s concert but ultimately did not take the stage.
Meanwhile, Kim Sae-ron passed away on February 16 at the age of 25. After her death, it was alleged that actor Kim Soo-hyun had dated her during her underage years and sent her a certified letter demanding 700 million won in damages following her DUI controversy. The public backlash was significant.

Kim Soo-hyun, who had remained silent, held a press conference on March 31, stating “I did not date her when she was a minor”, and denied any responsibility for her tragic death, “It’s not true that my avoidance caused the agency to pressure her over debt and that this led to her tragic choice.”
