Kim Jong-kook’s House Transformed After 2 Years: A “Bag Hell” Fills the Balcony
The February 23 episode of SBS’s “Running Man” will feature the members working together to clean up Kim Jong-kook’s house.
During a recent recording, the members made a visit to Kim Jong-kook’s house after receiving urgent reports and joined forces for a massive cleaning session. In the past, they visited “Jong-kook House” for a belated housewarming and held a “House (gyp) Jong-kook” race, where they witnessed his exemplary minimalist lifestyle as a “lone bachelor”. However, they were shocked to see that his home had undergone a complete 180-degree transformation over the past two years.
In particular, the “bag hell” that completely filled the balcony left everyone in utter disbelief. The overwhelming presence of plastic bags was so extreme that the members declared Kim Jong-kook’s entire home a “severe cleaning zone”. Engaging in a fierce debate with the “Bag Uncle” Kim Jong-kook, they passionately tackled the cleaning mission.
Additionally, the episode will showcase a unique mission where the members discover various items while organizing the house and put them up as prizes. Since “Jong-kook House” resembled a mini Dongmyo market, unexpected treasures such as luxury sneakers and wireless headsets caught the members’ attention. With no materialistic desires, Kim Jong-kook generously agreed to give them away as gifts. However, with each failed mission, the number of items decreased, raising anticipation over which member would successfully claim their desired treasure.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook is known as an icon of frugality. On a broadcast of “Running Man” in July 2022, the cast members visited Kim Jong-kook’s house.
As many guests gathered at the house that day, Kim Jong-kook turned on the air conditioner and surprised people by saying, “I turned it on for the first time this year. Last year, I never turned on the air conditioner, so my electricity bill was 0 won.”
When actress Jeon So-min used two wet wipes, he showed his “cheap side” and invoked laughter by saying, “Use only one sheet.”
