Model Kim Jong-seok’s Death Confirmed: Family Urges Public to Stop Spreading False Rumors

The unexpected death of rising model Kim Jong-seok has been officially confirmed by his family, who are now pleading with the public to stop spreading misinformation surrounding his passing. The news has sent shockwaves through the South Korean entertainment industry and left fans in mourning.

On June 6, model Kim Jong-seok’s older sister posted on her personal social media, stating, “We’ve been holding the funeral in a daze following the sudden news of his passing.” She expressed distress over the harmful rumors circulating online, adding, “There has been a lot of misinformation about Jong-seok… None of it is true.”

The family plans to release a voice recording involving both the police and a friend present at the time to clarify circumstances and protect Kim’s dignity. In their plea, Kim’s family urged: “Please, for the sake of the deceased, stop the malicious comments. Let him rest peacefully.”

According to Sports Chosun, Kim’s sudden passing has deeply affected those who knew him. Numerous friends and colleagues turned to social media to share tributes. One friend, referred to as “A,” wrote, “When I heard yesterday that you had left us, my heart shattered. I still can’t believe that I’ll never see your smiling face again. Though it hurts deeply, I’m truly grateful for all the moments and memories we shared. Every one of them was precious. I’ll always keep you in my heart.”

Another acquaintance shared a photo of a funeral wreath from Kim’s memorial service, writing, “Still can’t believe it… I hope you’re at peace now, free from pain.”

Kim Jong-seok’s funeral was held the morning of June 6 at Maru Park Funeral Home in Hanam, and he was laid to rest at Chuncheon Rest Garden and Yanggu Memorial Park.

The 29-year-old model had recently been active online, even posting just three days before his death. Fans, shocked and heartbroken, flooded his social media with messages:

• Please tell me this isn’t real…”

By the afternoon of June 6, his social media account was set to private by his family. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Kim first gained public attention through a YouTube Shorts ad for the men’s grooming brand DASHU, and in 2022, he appeared on the tvN variety show “Skip.” While his career was just beginning to bloom, his sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of many.
