After such revelation, however, the company had to issue an official statement in response to fans’ criticisms that they unveiled the information without Junsu’s consent.

In particular, the company stated, “This post was made after prior discussion with Junsu Kim and his agency,” adding , “We did not mention this information, which caused misunderstandings among many fans. We are sorry.”

According to the company, they met with Junsu Kim, relayed all the information about posting the information, and they ultimately decided to publish the article as is.

“For the past four months, when we were in the process of certifying the Cybertruck, (Junsu Kim) has been really silent and patiently waiting. In fact, we wanted to get the car (to Korea) faster, so we used a plane to charter the car here, but the certification process was taking such a ridiculous amount of time, so he must have been frustrated”, the company also stated, adding, “We felt so ashamed that we couldn’t even raise my head because he waited without making any fuss.”

Recalling his days with SM Entertainment K-pop boy group TVXQ (also known as DBSK), Kim Junsu shared how the group became the first Asian male group to top Japan’s Oricon chart and how they earned multiple awards in Korea.

Despite their success, however, he admitted to feeling a sense of crisis when BIGBANG emerged as a strong competitor.

“One day, we decided to focus on promoting in Japan, so we only promoted in Japan for about two years, and went on a hiatus in Korea. That’s when BIGBANG appeared. At first, we didn’t feel that burdened because our rivals kept changing, but when I first saw their ‘Lies’ stage, I thought it was cool even from our perspective. We had sharp choreography, but BIGBANG was so free and cool. I felt a sense of crisis for the first time when I saw that”, the singer-actor admitted.

This eventually led to the release of TVXQ’s hit song “Mirotic”, and according to Junsu, TVXQ was supposed to promote more in Japan, but ended up returning to Korean early.

One of the more personal moments came when Kim Junsu opened up about how, despite his enormous financial success as a musical actor, people still looked at him with pity when he wasn’t actively appearing on TV. At one point, he owned 15 supercars, which led to him being nicknamed “Rich Oppa.”

He explained, “Even though my income increased 100-fold, people still looked at me with pity because I wasn’t on TV. It bothered me, and I felt the need to show off my wealth. But eventually, people began to acknowledge me for my work, and I realized I didn’t need to flaunt material things anymore.”

He humorously mentioned that he once bought a 24K gold-plated bed, the same model used by Donald Trump. However, he emphasized that he has since reduced his car collection to three and no longer indulges in such extravagant purchases.
