Actress Kim Min-ju, formerly of the girl group IZ*ONE, made a surprise appearance as a weathercaster on JTBC’s Newsroom on the 15th of November. She was introduced as a guest weather presenter during the show’s weather segment, where she also introduced herself using sign language.
Kim Min-ju explained that she had taken on the role of “Autumn” in a film about youth who communicate through sign language, and in honor of the season, she proceeded to deliver the weekend weather forecast. Dressed in a neat white dress, she exhibited precise enunciation and coordinated hand gestures, showing her impressive presentation skills.

In addition, Kim Min-ju signed off with a heartfelt message wishing viewers a happy weekend, further emphasizing the importance of her film, Cheongseol (청설), which has been gaining attention. The movie, which also stars No Yoon-seo and Hong Gyeong, has attracted over 380,000 viewers since its release on November 6th
Previously, former IZ*ONE member Kim Min-ju shared her thoughts on making her commercial film debut at the press screening of “Hear Me: Our Summer” (directed by Jo Sun-ho), held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, on October 28th. The event was attended by director Jo Sun-ho and cast members Hong Kyung, Noh Yoon-seo, and Kim Min-ju.
“I’m extremely nervous as everything about this release process is new to me,” Kim Min-ju admitted during the press conference. “Just being part of this project is an honor. Although I was initially worried due to my limited acting experience, I fortunately played the character of Ga-eul, who shares many similarities with me. The entire preparation process was incredibly enjoyable.”

Kim Min-ju, who has been actively pursuing an acting career since her days as a member of K-pop group IZ*ONE, plays the role of Ga-eul, a deaf swimming athlete pursuing her dreams. She portrays the supportive younger sister to the main characters in the film.
“Even now, when I think back to the filming set, I’m filled with nothing but gratitude,” she reflected. “It’s amazing that we’ll be able to meet audiences in theaters, and I sincerely hope our story resonates with many people.”
“Hear Me: Our Summer” is a Korean remake of a 2010 Taiwanese romance film of the same name and marks director Jo Sun-ho’s second feature following his 2017 debut “A Day.” The story follows Yong-jun (Hong Kyung), who charges straight ahead in pursuit of love, and Yeo-reum (Noh Yoon-seo), who gradually discovers genuine feelings, along with Yong-jun’s sister Ga-eul (Kim Min-ju), capturing their refreshing and heart-fluttering moments together.
