Leaked Audio Recording of Late Kim Sae-ron Alleges Relationship with Actor Kim Soo-hyun: “Began in 8th Grade Winter Break, Even Sent Me Intimate Videos”
In a development that has stunned the Korean entertainment industry, the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron held an emergency press conference on May 7 in Seoul, releasing a previously unheard audio recording of the actress detailing an alleged relationship with top actor Kim Soo-hyun.
“I dated Kim Soo-hyun. You might think I’m crazy and not believe me, but we started dating in middle school and broke up in college. He was with me since I was a minor,” Kim Sae-ron is heard stating in the recording. She further alleged, “The first time we had [s*x] was during winter break in my second year of middle school.”
She further claimed,
“Looking back now, it’s unbelievable, but I feel like I was used since middle school. Honestly, I was his girlfriend, but after the (drinking) accident, he knew everything about how I’d been with him since middle school and turned me into a ‘b****’ for money. The crazy thing is, he showed me photos he took while we were together.“
She also mentioned Kim Soo-hyun allegedly storing photos and messages from their time together, including inappropriate content linked to other celebrities.
“He told me he saved another idol member he slept with under the name ‘Seaweed’ in his phone because she smelled like it—and he even showed that to me. If I had the means, I would’ve exposed everything.”
The recording paints a disturbing picture, including Kim’s admission of feeling exploited and silenced: “If I had the means, I would’ve exposed everything… People ask me why I stayed quiet.”
Kim Soo-hyun has strongly denied the accusations. In a prior press conference held on March 31 at the Stanford Hotel, he stated, “I never dated the deceased when she was a minor. They’re asking me to admit something that isn’t true.” He dismissed the messages released by the family as fabricated, adding that they were being analyzed by a private verification agency—though the agency reportedly lacks legal validity.
Amid rising tensions, Kim Soo-hyun has threatened legal action, including a 12 billion won lawsuit targeting Kim Sae-ron’s family, an individual claiming to be her aunt, and various media outlets. He also urged the family to submit their evidence to official investigative bodies for proper evaluation.
