Stabbed Whistleblower’s Wife Speaks Out on Kim Sae-ron Recording Scandal, Thanks Actor Won Bin for Quiet Support

As the investigation surrounding the late Kim Sae-ron’s alleged voice recordings intensifies, the wife of the whistleblower at the center of the case has broken her silence.
In a heartfelt voice message released to the public, she recounted the harrowing experience her family endured and expressed gratitude to those who offered support—most notably actor Won Bin.

A Wife Speaks Out Amid the Kim Sae-ron Scandal
On May 7, Kim Sae-ron’s bereaved family held an emergency press conference. Present at the event were the family’s legal representative, attorney Bu Ji-seok of Buyu Law Firm, and the operator of a YouTube channel that has been covering the incident.
According to the channel operator, “About a month before Kim Sae-ron’s death, whistleblower Mr. A — who was in New Jersey at the time — recorded conversations with the late actress, with her full consent, in which she detailed various crimes allegedly involving actor Kim Soo-hyun. On May 1, Mr. A was violently attacked by two men from Korea and China, suffering nine stab wounds to the neck.”
The woman, who identified herself only as the wife of “Mr. A,” began her statement by acknowledging her foreign background: “I am not Korean myself, but I am speaking to the Korean public today because my husband is Korean, and what happened to him was horrific.”
She described a slow escalation from “strange calls and threats” to terrifying breaches of privacy, including the disclosure of their home address, their daughter’s name, and details about their tenant.

“Everything changed the night my husband was attacked,” she said, referring to the stabbing incident that left Mr. A critically injured. “When the hospital called and I saw the blood on his clothes, I honestly thought I would break.”
She revealed that while her husband was unconscious, she reviewed the digital content he had been safeguarding—messages, threats, and a “recording of a real voice from someone who is no longer with us.” Though initially unaware of its significance, she came to recognize it as “evidence—evidence of something people are trying very hard to bury.”
Global Stakes and a Promise for Truth
The whistleblower’s wife confirmed that the case is now the subject of an active U.S. federal investigation involving Korean nationals. “We can’t share all the details yet,” she said, “but I promise the full truth will come to light once the investigation concludes.” She also affirmed their intent to visit Korea and speak out publicly when the time is right.

In a moving address to the Korean public, she said, “We’re tired. We’re scared. We’re human. But if you believe like we do that silence should never protect lies, your belief in the truth means everything to us.”
Turning to Kim Sae-ron’s mother, she offered words of solidarity: “Straighten your shoulders, lift your head. Your child’s silence deserves to be honored with strength.”
In an unexpected moment of gratitude, she thanked actor Won Bin for his quiet compassion: “I didn’t know you were famous, but I saw what you did. You came quietly. You offered your respect. That quiet humanity meant more to us than you’ll ever know.”

As investigators dig deeper into the origin and content of the controversial recordings, the world watches to see whether justice—and the truth—will ultimately prevail.
