On April 22, entertainment insider Lee Jin-ho uploaded a bombshell video titled “Shocking Exclusive! The Late Kim Sae-ron’s Final Voice Recording… Was It Really Kim Soo-hyun’s Fault?” on his YouTube channel.
In the video, Lee Jin-ho explained, “Kim Sae-ron’s life leading up to February could be divided into two major chapters. She had dedicated her entire life to the entertainment industry since the age of two, but after her DUI accident, she was pushed into part-time jobs within less than a year.”
He continued, “Amid the burdens of being the sole breadwinner and struggling with financial hardship, she was driven by deep loneliness to enter a marriage she didn’t truly want with her American husband.” According to Lee Jin-ho, her acquaintances did not have a favorable impression or trust in the husband, but Kim Sae-ron still dreamed of escaping the harsh realities of Korea for a fresh start in the U.S.
Lee Jin-ho also confirmed that Kim Sae-ron had been undergoing psychiatric treatment and, due to extreme stress, had attempted self-harm multiple times and visited the ER over 20 times.
Lee Jin-ho then played a recording of a phone call between Kim Sae-ron and a close acquaintance. In the recording, she said tearfully, “No, it’s nothing… My boyfriend suddenly started showing me fortune-telling videos on YouTube, saying that I was the problem, that I should already be dead, that time had stopped for me.”
She added, “They say I’m a withered flower, that I can never bloom again… that I’m selfish and horrible. They keep saying that.” Her voice quivered with sobs and despair.
Lee Jin-ho revealed that Kim Sae-ron had endured severe conflict throughout her relationship and marriage with her “New York husband,” and presented details from a written agreement between the two. He claimed that the husband exhibited obsessive behavior and that Kim Sae-ron had sent DMs and photos to an ex-boyfriend, further escalating tensions. Despite the turmoil, Kim Sae-ron attempted to maintain the marriage, but was reportedly subjected to repeated gaslighting.
