On the afternoon of March 18, YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as “Garo Sero”), unveiled a screenshot of Kim Sae-ron’s messages to Kim Soo-hyun back in 2018, when the late actress was in grade 11, via their YouTube community tab.
In particular, the messages showed Kim Sae-ron asking if Kim Soo-hyun doesn’t have KakaoTalk (a famous messaging app that most Koreans use), at night on August 13, 2018. Then, on the next morning, she sent 2 more messages to Kim Soo-hyun, asking him to accept her friend request on Telegram.
According to Garo Sero, these are what Kim Sae-ron texted Kim Soo-hyun after the actor told her that he has deleted KakaoTalk and asked her to contact him via the messaging app Telegram on her new phone.
“Actress Kim Sae-ron has explained this situation in detail to her family. So, can we say that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun have not been in a romantic relationship since 2015? Is this really just a normal conversation between a high school student and an older person?”, the YouTube channel also wrote, adding, “Why was there a sudden need to delete KakaoTalk and switch to Telegram to talk on a new phone?”, and question Kim Soo-hyun’s intentions as he asked Kim Sae-ron to be his “secret friend”.
Under a topic related to these messages published on the Korean forum theqoo, which has drawn significant attention with over 57,000 views in just an hour, netizens also raised eyebrows as they find Kim Soo-hyun’s action perplexing. Many pointed out that Telegram is the app where most suspicious chatrooms are based, and include a feature that allows permanent deletion of old messages, making it easy to commit fishy purposes.
