Kim Sae-ron’s Struggles Finally Revealed: Debt, Desperation, and Actions That Led to Her Panic (+Aunt’s Exposé)
On March 12, Dispatch looked into and revealed the details of the relationship between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron. According to the report, the two stars had been dating for six years but kept it secret due to their age difference.
A particularly concerning detail was that Kim Soo-hyun’s side took action by sending a debt notice to Kim Sae-ron at a time when she was financially struggling and unable to repay. The debt notice stated: “If the full amount is not repaid in a short period, we will take civil and criminal legal action.” Unable to settle the debt immediately, Kim Sae-ron reportedly sent a plea for help to Kim Soo-hyun. The actor then allegedly forwarded the message to several reporters, inadvertently disclosing her phone number.
When Dispatch asked Gold Medalist why they demanded money from Kim Sae-ron during her time of hardship, with her being the sole breadwinner of her family, the company responded, “Previously, our partner demanded payment, so we advanced the money for Kim Sae-ron. The debt notice was just a formality, and we knew we couldn’t recover the full amount. She can repay it gradually.”
Dispatch then pressed further, asking if Kim Sae-ron knew the debt notice was merely a formality. Gold Medalist responded carelessly, “We don’t know, but the manager must have contacted her and explained this. However, according to Dispatch’s investigation, Kim Sae-ron didn’t sit idly by and wait for help from the company. She did everything she could within her means. The actress sold her car and motorcycle, spending over 200 million KRW (approximately 140,000 USD) to compensate for the damage.
Meanwhile, during Sero Garo Research Institute’s latest live broadcast on March 12, Kim Sae-ron’s aunt revealed that she was shaking and very scared when she received the debt notice from Kim Soo-hyun’s company. The aunt also revealed that Kim Sae-ron had received multiple offers from other companies when her contract with YG Entertainment expired, but she decided to join Gold Medalist to support her then boyfriend Kim Soo-hyun, who even promised to marry her.
