Kim Seolhyun Joins Hands with Writer Noh Hee-kyung “Cast in ‘Show Business'”

On June 13th, a broadcasting official revealed, “Kim Seolhyun is in final negotiations to appear in the new drama ‘Show Business’ (working title).” The drama, set in the rapidly growing show business world shortly after the Korean War, will depict the story of stars on stage and the people who make them.

While the specifics of Kim Seolhyun’s character remain undisclosed, it is expected to draw on her experience as a singer, focusing on the story of singers who performed for the Eighth United States Army units. This role is seen as an opportunity to leverage her singing background. Through this drama, Kim Seolhyun aims to further establish her acting career, which she has steadily built since her debut in the 2012 KBS 2TV drama “My Daughter Seo-young”.

The collaboration with writer Noh Hee-kyung, known as a hitmaker in the broadcasting industry, has garnered significant attention. Writer Noh has penned numerous successful dramas, including “Our Blues” and “Dear My Friends”.

Kim Seolhyun also shares a noteworthy connection with director Lee Yoon-jung, who will be helming the project. The two previously worked together on the 2022 drama “Summer Strike”, where Kim Seolhyun played the lead role. Director Lee is known for popular romance dramas such as “Coffee Prince” and “Cheese in the Trap”.

Top stars like Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo are also in discussions to join the cast. The drama is a co-production between Studio Dragon and writer Noh Hee-kyung’s agency GTist.
