Kim Soo-hyun Sells Luxury Apartment to Cover Legal Expenses, Gains Nearly 5 Billion KRW Profit
According to a recent report by Woman Sense, actor Kim Soo-hyun has sold one of the three Galleria Foret apartments he owned in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Kim Soo-hyun purchased the Galleria Foret unit (exclusive area 170.98㎡, total area 232.59㎡) in October 2014 for 3.02 billion KRW and recently sold it for 8 billion KRW. This resulted in a staggering profit of 4.98 billion KRW. Amid a massive lawsuit from advertisers claiming damages, speculation has arisen that the sale was a rushed move to secure funds.
Previously, an advertiser that had hired Kim Soo-hyun as a model had applied for a provisional seizure on one of his Galleria Foret properties.
At the time, Kim Soo-hyun’s lawyer explained, “The advertising fees were already paid, but due to recent controversies, the use of the advertisements became difficult, leading to the advertisers’ claims for damages.” The lawyer added, “If Kim Soo-hyun’s reputation is restored, these lawsuits are likely to be resolved naturally.”
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun has taken legal action against the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute and the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, filing charges for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, as well as a 12 billion KRW damages lawsuit.
