On June 20, attorney Bang Sung-hoon of LKB & Partners, representing Kim Soo-hyun, confirmed that some advertisers have filed lawsuits against the actor. However, he noted that it is “difficult to confirm the specific amount.”
The lawsuits follow allegations spread by YouTuber Kim Se-ui of the Garo Sero Institute, suggesting Kim Soo-hyun had a relationship with actress Kim Sae-ron during her minor years claims both parties strongly deny. Bang emphasized that the damage claims are based on falsehoods and lack legal or contractual grounds, calling the situation “secondary victimization.”
Media outlets previously reported that several brands, including Cuckoo Electronics, Frombio, and Trendmaker, are seeking a combined ₩7.34 billion in damages, citing breach of contract and brand damage. Some of Kim’s assets were also reportedly frozen in a separate lawsuit filed by a medical device company.
Bang stated the legal team expects the matter to resolve once the claims by Garo Sero are proven false through ongoing investigations.
