Kim Soo-hyun Still Supported by Fancafe? Amid Criticisms from Fans and Closed Fanpages
On March 13, the management of Kim Soo-hyun’s Daum fancafe, “yukarisKSH”, uploaded a second notice titled, “Yukaris will be with actor Kim Soo-hyun“, which stated, “We regret that the media is making speculative articles about the position of the Daum fancafe Yukaris using provocative keywords and titles”, adding, “It is currently only temporarily private, and we will convert it to public once member protection and safety are secured“.
The fancafe also requested others to stop cyberbullying the members, before insisting that they will continued to support Kim Soo-hyun. Meanwhile, previously, Yukaris refuted reports that long-time fans had “unstanned” with Kim Soo-hyun, stating, “We have temporarily made the cafe private to prevent the cyberbullying of members.”
On the other hand, other fans of Kim Soo-hyun reacted completely different. On March 12, reports surfaced that Kim Soo-hyun’s fan Instagram account, @kimsoohyuniee, posted a farewell message on its Instagram Story. Against a black background, the account wrote, “To the actor I once admired, goodbye.” With 463,000 followers, this account is known as the largest fan-run page dedicated to Kim Soo-hyun outside of Korea.
Earlier, on March 10, the controversy surrounding actor Kim Soo-hyun erupted after the family of the late Kim Sae-ron made serious allegations. They claimed that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun had been in a romantic relationship from 2015 to 2021, when Kim Sae-ron was a minor. According to the family, the two broke up in 2022. The family also accused Kim Sae-ron’s former agency, Gold Medalist, of stepping in to compensate for damages amounting to 700 million KRW (approximately 482,000 USD) after the breakup.
Further fueling the claims, the Garo Sero Research Institute released a photo of Kim Soo-hyun kissing Kim Sae-ron on the cheek and text messages showing Kim Sae-ron asking Kim Soo-hyun for assistance after receiving the letter of demand. In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, issued a strong statement denying the allegations, calling them outright falsehoods. They stated that they were considering legal action against Garo Sero Research Institute for spreading such damaging rumors. The agency expressed grief over Kim Sae-ron’s passing but condemned the spread of false claims that could harm both the late actress’s reputation and their agency.

Some fans demanded that Kim Soo-hyun leave the MBC variety show “Good Day,” and there were widespread calls for boycotts of products he endorses.
