Fans Launch Global Petition in Support of Kim Soo-hyun Amid Online Backlash: “Always Supporting Him”
Despite facing escalating online criticism and scrutiny, actor Kim Soo-hyun is receiving overwhelming support from fans worldwide.
On April 12, an international fan account shared a heartfelt video from his Japan fan meeting along with uplifting messages and the launch of a global petition aimed at defending his rights.
“Even on tearful days, I’ll keep supporting him with a firm heart. Believing in the truth of Kim Soo-hyun’s journey, his fans will never leave,” wrote one fan in a widely shared post that included footage of Kim smiling and waving at supporters during his event in Japan.
The post also provided a link to an online petition that addresses the current controversy, condemning what it calls an “online public trial.” The petition reads: “We express grave concern over the reality where unverified rumors are causing terminated ad deals, privacy violations, malicious comments, and social sanctions. Even if mistakes were made, the widespread circulation of baseless accusations and defamatory videos constitutes a modern-day online public trial, violating the presumption of innocence.”
Supporters further emphasized their loyalty with encouraging messages like, “There are fans all over the world who support Kim Soo-hyun. Don’t worry and stay strong.”
Previously, Kim Soo-hyun denied allegations of dating the late Kim Sae-ron while she was underage, stating their relationship only occurred after she became an adult. At a press conference, he claimed he was pressured to admit to false accusations and that evidence had been manipulated. He has filed defamation lawsuits against the family, a YouTube channel, and related others.
This growing wave of support comes as Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has already taken legal action against cyberbullying and malicious content. With global fans now stepping in, the actor’s resilience is being reinforced by a united front determined to protect his rights and reputation.
