Kim Soo-hyun Files Blackmail Charges Against Garo Sero: Nth Chatroom Footage Doesn’t Exist

On March 24th, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist filed an additional complaint against Kim Se-ui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (Garo Sero), on charges of blackmail under the Criminal Act.

Kim Soo-hyun’s agency accused Garo Sero of repeatedly broadcasting private photos of Kim Soo-hyun through live streams, which they claim constitutes another criminal act. They further alleged that the YouTube channel threatened to release a certain video unless Disney+ canceled the release of “Knock-Off”, a series starring Kim Soo-hyun.

Kim Soo-hyun’s agency has thus been actively pursuing legal measures. They previously filed complaints against Garo Sero and Kim Sae-ron’s family for unauthorized distribution of images, including a photo of Kim Soo-hyun washing dishes at Kim Sae-ron’s home.
Below is the full statement from Gold Medalist:
As the management agency responsible for actor Kim Soo-hyun, Gold Medalist has today filed an additional complaint against Kim Se-ui, operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (Garo Sero), on charges of blackmail under the Criminal Act.
AdvertisementOn March 20, 2025, Gold Medalist had already filed a criminal complaint against Garo Sero for violating the “Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes” by broadcasting a private image of Kim Soo-hyun during a live stream. However, on March 21, 2025 just a day after the complaint was filed Garo Sero aired the same image again on their YouTube live stream. Such actions not only constitute another crime but also demonstrate blatant disregard for the law and investigative authorities.
Furthermore, in live broadcasts on March 21 and March 22, Garo Sero mentioned the Disney+ original drama “Knock-Off”, threatening to release a video featuring Kim Soo-hyun if Disney+ did not cancel the show’s release. They even repeatedly mentioned Nth Room, falsely implying that Kim Soo-hyun was involved in similar crimes and that a related video existed.
As with their past claims, Garo Sero’s allegations are completely unfounded, and no such video exists. Given the severity of these criminal actions, Gold Medalist has taken swift action by filing an additional complaint.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun has been embroiled in allegations that he was romantically involved with the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. Garo Sero Research Institute previously released an interview with Kim Sae-ron’s family, claiming that Kim Soo-hyun had dated her for six years since she was a minor in 2016.

However, Gold Medalist denied this, stating, “Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, after Kim Sae-ron had become an adult. The claim that he dated her when she was a minor is untrue.” They also dismissed allegations that Kim Soo-hyun pressured the late actress to repay a 700-million-won (approximately 477,000 USD) debt.
