Kim Soo-hyun’s Agency Responds to Garo Sero’s Press Conference Plans: “Concern Over Dissemination of False Information”

On May 7, Gold Medalist, the agency representing actor Kim Soo-hyun, issued an official statement expressing concern over a scheduled press conference by the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute.

According to the statement distributed to reporters, the agency said, “Following the previous press conference, we express serious concern that false information about Mr. Kim Soo-hyun may once again be spread.”

The agency further urged members of the press, “When reporting on unilateral and unverified claims, please verify the facts with us to prevent the dissemination and reproduction of falsehoods that may cause undue harm.”

This response comes in advance of a press conference announced by Garo Sero Institute to be held at 2 PM on May 7, where they claimed they would disclose allegations of “serious criminal activity” involving Kim Soo-hyun. The event was expected to feature Garo Sero Institute’s representative Kim Se-ui and attorney Bu Ji-seok of Law Firm Buyou, though they provided no further details about the claims in their announcement.

The controversy began in March 2025 when Kim Sae-ron’s family alleged that Kim Soo-hyun had dated the actress while she was still a minor, sparking grooming accusations. They also claimed his agency pressured her over debts from her 2022 DUI.

Kim Soo-hyun denied the claims in a press conference, stating the relationship began in 2019 after she became an adult and lasted about a year. He also filed defamation and civil lawsuits against her family and Garo Sero Institute, seeking ₩12 billion KRW in damages.
