Although swiftly lifted, the aftermath of the first martial law declaration in 45 years continues to reverberate. The stock market is in turmoil, and the entertainment industry is adjusting by canceling, postponing or cautiously resuming scheduled events.

Concerts by Lee Seung-hwan, Jang Beom-june and Dua Lipa, scheduled for today (Dec 4), will proceed as planned.

Lee Seung-hwan initially canceled his small-theater concert “Like a Black-and-White Movie”, held at the Gurumare Theater in Seoul, but later reinstated it following the lifting of martial law. The six-show series spans Dec 3~5 and 17~19. On the night of Dec 3, Lee Seung-hwan announced the cancellation of the Dec 4 and 5 shows due to martial law but confirmed their resumption on the morning of Dec 4, apologizing for the confusion.

Jang Beom-june will also proceed with his small concert series “Silent Raining”, running from Dec 4 to 19 at Hyundai Card UNDERSTAGE in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. On SNS, he wrote, “In these turbulent times, I won’t post updates today or tomorrow. Please stay informed through the news, and I’ll see you at the concert.”

Seo Hyun-jin, starring in Netflix’s series “The Trunk”, canceled her scheduled Dec 4 promotional interview, with plans to reschedule later. However, interviews with co-stars Gong Yoo and Jung Yun-ha, slated for Dec 5 and 6, will proceed as planned.

The Dec 4 interviews for the film “About Family”, set to be released on Dec 11, were initially postponed for reconsideration due to martial law but later resumed as scheduled after its lifting. Similarly, interviews for Wavve’s original reality show “Bloody Game 3” were delayed but ultimately confirmed to proceed.

Meanwhile, the Dec 4 photo call event for a fragrance brand, featuring actor Kim Soo-hyun, STAYC’s Sieun and WJSN’s Yeoreum, was canceled.

While most entertainment events are moving forward as originally planned, the overnight confusion surrounding concerts, award ceremonies and interviews has somewhat subsided. However, given the unprecedented national upheaval, the lingering effects are expected to persist.
