On March 12, Gold Medalist, the actor’s management agency, addressed the claims, stating, “Our stance remains unchanged from our previous statement.”
This response comes after new accusations were made public through a live broadcast by the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute on March 11. During the broadcast, the channel revealed additional messages allegedly sent by Kim Sae-ron to Kim Soo-hyun, as well as previously unseen photos of the two together. Furthermore, statements from the late actress’s family were shared, adding fuel to the controversy that had already been gaining traction.
This latest development follows an earlier broadcast on March 10, where Garo Sero Research Institute claimed that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun had been in a romantic relationship since she was 15. The channel also alleged that a manager from Gold Medalist had personal ties with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, further complicating the situation.
In response, Gold Medalist issued a strong denial, emphasizing that the allegations were baseless. The agency stated, “The claims made about Kim Soo-hyun are completely false.” They also announced their intention to take legal action against Garo Sero Research Institute for spreading misinformation, declaring, “We are reviewing the most severe legal measures possible to counter their dissemination of false information.”
Expressing sorrow over Kim Sae-ron’s passing, the agency added, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of Kim Sae Ron, who was once part of our agency, and we mourn her loss.” However, they also criticized the spread of rumors, drawing attention to the negative impact of such actions. The statement continued, “The dissemination of such false claims is nothing more than a continuation of the cyber harassment that Kim Sae-ron suffered during her lifetime.”
Gold Medalist concluded by making an urgent plea to the public and media, requesting that baseless rumors not be further circulated. They stated, “We earnestly request that these completely unfounded claims stop being circulated, exaggerated, or reproduced.”
