During the press event, he presented the results of a forensic analysis of KakaoTalk conversations to support his claims. However, the analysis results have sparked a wide range of reactions.

On the afternoon of March 31, a press conference was held at the Stanford Korea Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul in response to allegations that Kim Soo-hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron while she was still a minor. The actor was joined by lawyer Kim Jong-bok from the law firm LKB & Partners his agency Gold Medalist’s legal representative.

During the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun asserted that the evidence revealed by Kim Sae-ron‘s family was fabricated and flatly denied all allegations. He claimed that the evidence provided by the family was manipulated and not factual.

To support his claims, Kim Soo-hyun stated that he had submitted the relevant KakaoTalk logs to a professional forensic analysis agency for verification.

“On YouTube channels, people are using KakaoTalk messages from 2016 to frame me as a pedophile and accuse me of grooming a minor. But the individuals conversing with the deceased in the 2016 and 2018 chats are different people. To prove this, I submitted the 2016 and 2018 messages provided by the bereaved family, as well as KakaoTalk messages I exchanged with acquaintances this year, to a professional linguistic analysis agency. As you can see, the agency concluded that the individuals in the 2016 and 2018 messages are not the same.”

However, netizens are now scrutinizing parts of the report that were not highlighted in red during the presentation. Online communities are abuzz with questions such as “Why didn’t he mention this part during the press conference?”, “Found something strange what is this?”, “Did he not even read the data he received?”, “At least read the materials before presenting them” and “What are you even doing?

When the full text is examined, it reveals the following disclaimer: “The sample size used for this analysis is limited (due to the amount of text), thus there are constraints in interpretation. The results may vary if a larger dataset is analyzed, and this analysis is based solely on the materials provided.”

Of particular note is the statement: “There is a high probability that the messages from 2018 and 2025 were written by the same person. The writing style, expressions and grammatical patterns are consistent, and there is no statistically significant difference. The speaker’s linguistic habits remain consistent.” Based on the 2018 messages, Kim Sae-ron, born in 2000, would have been 19 in Korean age (17 internationally) at that time.
