Kim Soo-hyun’s Fan Union Files Lawsuit Against Controversial Youtuber and Over 100 Malicious Commenters

On May 9, attorney Yang Tae-young from Siwoo Law Firm, representing the Kim Soo-hyun Fan Union, stated in a press release, “On May 7, the Kim Soo-hyun Fan Union filed a complaint with the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station against YouTuber Kwon Young-chan and over 100 malicious commenters.”
The fan union accused Kwon Young-chan of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation).

They asserted that Kwon Young-chan repeatedly spread false information via YouTube livestreams and videos, such as “Actor Kim Soo-hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was still a minor”, “He committed criminal acts against the deceased”, “He had sexual deviance toward minors” and “He had sexual relations with the deceased when she was a minor.”
They stated, “Due to the continuous malicious slander, dissemination of false information, defamation and character assassination against Kim Soo-hyun, we could no longer remain silent and have proceeded with legal action.”

Previously, on April 30, they also filed a complaint against more than 100 malicious commenters with the same charges at the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station. “We will continue to respond firmly to any further spreading of false information about Kim Soo-hyun,” they emphasized.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency Gold Medalist also announced its official stance, stating that it has filed an additional lawsuit and complaint against Kim Se-ui, operator of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, on charges of defamation and violation of the Anti-Stalking Act, as well as against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron for defamation.
