On February 22, BILLIONS, Kim Sung-kyu‘s agency, issued an official announcement, stating, “We are deeply saddened to share heartbreaking news: Kim Sung-kyu’s older sister, who had been battling an illness, passed away this morning.”
As a result, Kim Sung-kyu will not be attending INFINITE’s 15th anniversary concert, “Limited Edition”, scheduled for the same day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Earlier, the agency stated on February 21, “Due to an unforeseen personal matter, Kim Sung-kyu will be unable to participate in the Malaysia concert. Although he had completed departure procedures, circumstances made it impossible for him to proceed with the performance.”
Despite his absence, the remaining INFINITE members have traveled to Malaysia as planned, and the concert will proceed as scheduled.
Meanwhile, INFINITE has been actively engaging with fans worldwide through their “Limited Edition” tour since December. The group has performed in major cities, including Seoul, Taipei, Macau, Jakarta, Singapore, and Japan. Following the Malaysia concert, the tour will continue in Hong Kong on March 1.
