Koo Jun-yup Kept Barbie Hsu’s Belongings for Over 20 Years: A Heartfelt Tribute to Late Wife

According to a report by Taiwanese outlet ET Today, Koo Jun-yup had quietly preserved a black hairbrush that Hsu left behind during a trip to Korea many years ago—after the couple had broken up. Despite their years apart, Koo never discarded the item. When the two reunited and married in 2022, he finally returned the brush to her, a gesture rich in sentiment and memory.
This isn’t the only cherished memento. On an April 2023 episode of SBS’s Dolsing Fourmen, Koo shared more stories of his enduring affection: “There’s still a coat in my house that Hsu gave me 23 years ago—I couldn’t throw it away. I also returned a mirror she left at my place two decades ago. When I gave it back, she didn’t even remember it and asked where I got it.”

These intimate stories offer a poignant glimpse into Koo’s deep bond with the late Barbie Hsu, a Taiwanese actress who passed away suddenly in February during a trip to Japan. Reports indicated the cause of death as pneumonia from the flu. She was laid to rest in March at the Rose Garden in Jinbaoshan Cemetery, Taiwan.
Their love story, spanning decades and rekindled against the odds, continues to move fans. Koo Jun-yup’s quiet devotion and the emotional weight of holding onto Barbie Hsu’s belongings for so long reflect a rare kind of enduring love—one that speaks volumes even in silence.
