Korean Press Criticizes Garo Sero and Sulli’s Brother: From Cha Eun-woo & IU to P.O, a Wave of Victims from Reckless Exposés

Reckless allegations by one of South Korea’s most controversial cyber wrecker channels, Garo Sero Institute, continue to generate public backlash as more innocent celebrities become collateral damage.

Garo Sero’s Reckless Exposés Disguised as Justice

While the channel claims to be “restoring the honor” of the late actress Kim Sae-ron, it is, in reality, fanning the flames of controversy by exposing her private life and spreading unverified claims.

In a recent video, Garo Sero questioned singer-actor Cha Eun-woo for allegedly not attending Kim Sae-ron’s memorial, saying, “You’ll be cursed by heaven.” However, another journalist-turned-YouTuber countered that Cha Eun-woo did visit the memorial, citing multiple witnesses.

This isn’t the first time Garo Sero crossed the line. Previously, they shared private photos and videos of Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron during their alleged past relationship without consent. In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s side filed legal action against both the channel and certain individuals under violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of illicit footage), as well as charges of blackmail and stalking.

Despite ongoing legal proceedings, Garo Sero has continued to release more content, including KakaoTalk messages, photos, and videos — further tarnishing not only Kim Soo-hyun’s reputation but also the late Kim Sae-ron’s. The group’s supposed mission to “restore her honor” has become contradictory at best.

So much so that some critics have remarked, “She can’t even rest in peace.” Many are now questioning whether Garo Sero is exploiting her death for views and profit.

Sulli’s Brother Fuels the Fire

The controversy took an unexpected turn when Sulli’s older brother entered the picture, using the opportunity to attack Kim Soo-hyun. He referenced their intimate scenes in the 2017 film “Real,” alleging that nudity and bed scenes were not in the original script and that Sulli had been coerced despite the presence of a body double.

His claims quickly spiraled out of control, dragging other celebrities into the fray, including P.O, IU, the late Goo Hara, Suzy, and Ahn So-hee, whose names were mentioned without substantiated evidence.

Although Kim Soo-hyun’s agency Gold Medalist later clarified the facts surrounding “Real,” and Sulli’s brother admitted that some of his claims were inaccurate, the damage was already done. Netizens had already flooded these celebrities’ pages with malicious comments.

These “say-it-first, confirm-later” tactics are causing serious harm to public figures and contributing to social disorder.

An industry insider commented, “Garo Sero and others are spreading groundless rumors that are seriously violating personal privacy and dignity. This is no longer mere gossip — it’s character assassination, and it must be stopped.”
