In a recent episode of the Above The Influence podcast (now deleted), influencer Kira — who claimed to have dated former BIGBANG member T.O.P — dropped shocking allegations about the K-pop industry. Kira asserted that many female K-pop idols, actresses, and celebrities are allegedly involved in high-end prostitution.

“Apparently, with every K-pop idol, Korean celebrity, or actress, there’s a price tag on their head,” Kira claimed. “If you’re rich enough — say, a Chinese businessman — you can go to these entertainment companies and request to spend a night, even with top K-pop stars.”

Kira went on to specifically mention IU, stating that her alleged “price” was $500,000 per night. While no evidence was presented and the allegations remain unverified, the statements have gone viral, with fans and industry watchers expressing shock and outrage at the severity of the accusations.

Adding fuel to the controversy, another influencer named Wootak appeared on the same podcast, sharing a disturbing story:

“I once attended summer camp with a friend who’s the son of a BMW heir. He claimed to have slept with Jennie (BlackPink) after paying for it. He even showed me a video, so I knew it was real.”

The allegations, which have no confirmed basis, rapidly gained traction online, racking up over 2.3 million views on X (formerly Twitter). K-pop fans have since flooded the podcast hosts’ social media accounts, demanding accountability and condemning the remarks as defamatory and dangerous.

As backlash mounted, another unnamed influencer from the podcast further inflamed the situation by posting an Instagram story that read, “I don’t give a f**k about crazy K-pop fans.” In an attempt to clarify, Wootak stated, “I don’t hate or attack Jennie. I simply shared a story I HEARD. I was just repeating it in the context of a discussion about the dark side of the K-pop industry — why idol suicide rates are high, and how slave-like contracts can be insane.”

However, the explanation has done little to ease public anger. Fans of IU and Jennie are now calling on their respective agencies to take immediate legal action against the podcast participants for defamation, invasion of privacy, and spreading false information.
