Late Kim Sae-ron’s Final Letter Suggests Extreme Decision Toward Husband A; Ex-boyfriend K Shares Text Messages
Before her death, actress Kim Sae-ron reportedly left behind a handwritten letter to her husband, A, hinting at emotional distress and a potential decision to end her life.
Her ex-boyfriend, K, revealed on March 25 that he wanted to clarify speculation surrounding her death, disclosing text messages exchanged with her prior to her passing.

That same day, her husband A responded with a statement and released Kim Sae-ron’s handwritten letter, where she expressed her reasons for both marrying and parting ways with him. The tone and content of the letter were notably different from the abusive and controlling messages shared with ex-boyfriend K, shedding new light on her emotional turmoil.
In the two-page letter, Kim Sae-ron confessed to struggling with her new relationship, describing emotional conflict, regret, and a sense of giving up. She wrote, “Our short but intense connection has come to an end. We experienced so much in such a short time, and perhaps we couldn’t keep up. I loved even that overwhelming feeling… But if we had taken things slower and made our decision to marry with more care, would it have ended so quickly?”
She continued, “Was I too impatient? Was it all just my selfish desire? I started to feel that nothing is eternal. Once something ends, that becomes eternity. When people die, they disappear forever. When relationships end, it’s final. I began to think that the world is built not by the living but by what is forever gone. That’s when I had thoughts of wanting to die.”
Kim Sae-ron further revealed her loneliness, saying, “I wanted to be your forever person. At first, it came from a place of revenge, then it became something I wanted to build together. But in the end, I only hurt you. I think I was lonely because you weren’t by my side during the hardest times.”
Kim Sae-ron married her husband A, a man from New York, after just two months of dating in November last year. The rushed marriage, seen by many as an attempt to escape reality, quickly led to conflicts. She resumed communication with her ex-boyfriend during that time.

Her ex-boyfriend K claimed Kim Sae-ron confided in him about her fear of her husband, who allegedly began monitoring her phone and verbally abusing her. One message from her husband on January 13 read, “You’re married now, so stop talking to other guys. Live your trashy life and clean up your own mess. Dumb XX.”
After their marriage, Kim Sae-ron reportedly attempted self-harm multiple times. In texts to her ex, she admitted, “It’s true that I looked elsewhere because I was so lonely. I needed someone to listen and help me. But that was just temporary. Afterward, he threatened to leak my messages and photos, hacked my Instagram, posted pictures, hit me, and cursed at me. I was too scared to leave him and worried you’d get hurt because of me.”
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun is facing allegations from the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, claiming he dated her when she was a minor.
The family, through YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, alleged the relationship began in middle school and lasted six years. They also accused Kim Sae-ron’s agency, Gold Medalist, of pressuring her for 700 million KRW over her DUI case.
The agency acknowledged a past relationship but insisted it began when she was legally an adult in 2019. Kim Soo-hyun publicly denied the underage dating claims and filed a 12 billion KRW ($9 million USD) lawsuit for defamation against her family and Garo Sero Insitute.
