Lee Byung-hun Praises Yoo Ah-in’s Performance in “The Match” but Reveals “No Contact Since Scandal”

Lee Byung-hun recently shared his thoughts on working alongside Yoo-Ah-in in “The Match”, highlighting the younger actor’s dedication to his role. He recalled Yoo-Ah-in’s deeply immersed portrayal of his character, noting his quiet and reserved presence on set.

Despite the film’s delayed release due to Yoo-Ah-in’s drug scandal, Lee-Byung-hun expressed his admiration for his co-star’s performance, stating, “He did an excellent job. A film shines not just because of one actor, but because of the chemistry of all the actors. From that perspective, I think we worked together very well.“

However, when asked if they had kept in touch, Lee-Byung-hun admitted, “We haven’t been in contact — not even once. To be honest, we weren’t the type to call each other even before.“ With director Kim Hyung-joo’s years of effort in mind, he also voiced concern for the film’s reception. “The Match” is set to premiere on March 26.
