Lee Dong-gun’s Girlfriend Revealed: Romantic Relationship With 16-Year Age Gap

According to a May 29 report by SPOTV News, actors Lee Dong-gun and Kang Hae-rim are in a romantic relationship, overcoming a 16-year age gap.
The two were spotted multiple times enjoying open dates in Seoul’s Gangnam area, unbothered by onlookers. Dressed casually, Lee Dong-gun showed affection by placing his hand on Kang Hae-rim’s waist or shoulder, holding her hand tightly, and even pulling her to safety when a car approached, displaying “stormy manners.” They were also seen spending leisurely time together at a café.

Their relationship was reportedly an open secret in the industry, with some insiders aware of their romance, as the couple did not hide their closeness.
However, both sides remained cautious in their statements. Lee Dong-gun’s agency, W+ (W Plus), told SPOTV News, “It’s a private matter, so it’s difficult to confirm with the individual.” Kang Hae-rim’s agency, Andmark, similarly stated, “It’s a private matter, so confirmation is difficult.”
Five years after his divorce, Lee Dong-gun has found new love, painting his life with a rosy hue. He married actress Jo Yoon-hee in September 2017, and they welcomed a daughter in December of the same year. The couple amicably divorced in May 2020, with Jo Yoon-hee raising their daughter. Lee Dong-gun has garnered attention for fulfilling his fatherly duties, meeting his daughter weekly, as seen on shows like My Little Old Boy.

Supported by Kang Hae-rim, Lee Dong-gun is balancing both love and work. Recently, he opened a Mediterranean-style café in Jeju, transforming into a businessman. The café has quickly become a “Jeju hotspot,” thriving since its launch.

Meanwhile, Kang Hae-rim debuted in the 2017 web drama Idol Fever and gained recognition through KBS Joy’s Love Intervention Seasons 2 and 3 as a reenactment actress. She expanded her presence with Live On (2020) and secured a lead role in Netflix’s Somebody (2022) after beating 600:1 odds. Recently, she played Jinpro in Ha Jung-woo’s film Lobby (2024), leaving a strong impression on audiences.
