Lee Dong-gun Moved by Father’s Suggestion of Remarriage After Loss and Divorce
In the February 2 episode of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy,” Lee Dong-gun‘s father advised his son, who had gone through a divorce, to find new love.
During a family trip, Lee Dong-gun shared memories of his late brother while traveling with his parents. He mentioned his daughter, Roa, saying that they meet every Sunday. “Roa seems to like Sundays. She says it’s a special day because it’s when she meets me,” he explained.

When asked what day she liked best, Roa responded, “Saturday and Sunday,” since Saturday is a day off from school, and Sunday is when she meets her dad.
The family spent quality time together at their destination and later shared a heartfelt conversation at their accommodation. Lee Dong-gun’s father shared his thoughts, advising his son to find a good person to marry again. “You’ve been married and divorced. It’s time to find someone new. Don’t worry about what others think. It’s your life, not theirs,” he added.
Lee Dong-geon was deeply moved by his father’s words, saying, “I didn’t expect to hear this from you. I’m touched.”

His father shared that he had been thinking this way for a long time but wasn’t sure how his son would accept it. Lee Dong-gun replied, “I think I’m ready to hear this now, and I’m thankful for your advice.”
The episode also featured Lee Dong-gun’s parents reminiscing about his late younger brother, Jun-yeob, who tragically passed away in an accident while studying abroad in Australia 17 years ago. His father revealed, “For 10 years after Jun-yeob’s passing, I couldn’t forget him. I felt responsible. But after a while, I realized I was still holding onto him. I had to let go.”

Lee Dong-gun’s mother shared that after losing Jun-yeob, her memory had significantly declined.
