Lee Dong-gun Reportedly Tells Acquaintances He’s Dating Kang Hae-rim: “I’m Happy” 5 Years After Divorce
On June 1, industry insiders confirmed that actor Lee Dong-gun is currently dating actress Kang Hae-rim, who is 16 years his junior.
Although both stars and their agencies declined to make public statements, citing it as a “private matter,” multiple sources revealed that Lee has been openly expressing his joy to those around him. “Thank you for congratulating me,” and “I’m happy,” he has reportedly told friends and colleagues.
The couple has been spotted on several casual dates in Seoul’s Gangnam district, enjoying café outings and walks together. Lee is said to have introduced Kang as his girlfriend to close acquaintances, indicating a serious and public-facing relationship.
When contacted by press, WPLUS Entertainment, Lee Dong-gun’s agency, commented, “It’s a private matter, so we’re unable to confirm anything.” ANDMARQ, Kang Hae-rim’s agency, echoed a similar stance.
This marks Lee Dong-gun’s first confirmed relationship since his high-profile divorce from actress Jo Yoon-hee in May 2020. The couple had tied the knot in September 2017 and welcomed a daughter that December before parting ways.
Despite the split, Lee has maintained a strong relationship with his daughter, often meeting her, a touching dynamic shown on the variety show My Little Old Boy.
Born in 1996, Kang Hae-rim debuted in 2017 through the web drama Idol Rights Delegate. She landed a lead role in Netflix’s Somebody after beating out 600 competitors.
