Lee Dong Wook on His Chemistry with Lee Kwang Soo in “The Divorce Insurance”: “We Understand Each Other Without Speaking”

On April 10, tvN DRAMA’s YouTube channel uploaded a video featuring Lee Dong Wook, Lee Joo Bin, Lee Da Hee and Lee Kwang Soo sharing behind-the-scenes stories from filming.
Lee Joo Bin described the wedding expo scene that kicks off the show as a pivotal moment, capturing the theme and tone of “The Divorce Insurance”. Lee Kwang Soo added, “In that scene, Dong Wook (as Ki-jun) had to deliver a very long line from beginning to end, and even the background actors gave him a round of applause.”

When a scene showing the bickering between Ki-jun and Jeon-man (Lee Kwang Soo) was brought up, Lee Dong Wook praised his on-screen chemistry with Lee Kwang Soo, “We understand each other without speaking. That made everything very comfortable—not just that scene, but all of them.” Lee Kwang Soo agreed, “Our chemistry is 1000 out of 100. From the very beginning, every scene with Dong Wook felt easy and natural.”

Lee Dong Wook also revealed, “We improvised a lot, and each time, it flowed so comfortably. That was such a joy.” Lee Da Hee chimed in, acknowledging the duo’s synergy, “The chemistry between them is truly incredible.” Speaking about Kim Won Hae, who plays Daebok, Lee Dong Wook said, “Won Hae is like an ocean that can embrace everything. Whether it’s in everyday life or in acting, I think we all had a blast playing in that ocean.”

He also expressed gratitude toward Jo Bo Ah, who made a special appearance as Ki-jun’s ex-wife, “The shoot was originally scheduled to wrap in two sessions, but bad weather delayed things. Despite her busy schedule, she still made time for us. I joked with her, ‘In our previous drama ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed’, I saved you from Imoogi, and now you’ve become a monk.’ I’m very thankful she came.”
Meanwhile, tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama “The Divorce Insurance” is a romantic comedy set in an insurance company’s innovative product development team that introduces the novel concept of “divorce insurance”.
